Press Release - Dip Black, Dreamland set to release debut project "Blackout"

Updated: Dec 22, 2019

Gatineau, QC, December 20, 2019 - Newly formed record label, Dreamland, is set to release its first project, Dip Black’s Blackout, since forming earlier this year. The highly anticipated project will drop on all streaming platforms on Monday, December 23rd, also known as Festivus.

Dreamland co-founder and musical architect, David Leclerc, also known as Quest, says of the project, “From the first time Dip came into the studio we knew we had something. This project has been months in the making and it’s the perfect way to launch our new label. I love working with artists who don’t sound like anyone else. Dip Black is definitely one of those artists. He’s been working hard and hip-hop is about to experience something it hasn’t seen or heard before.”

Produced exclusively by Quest, Blackout features label mate, Hevve, Capé and Norwegian R&B singer Sondrey. The project is a great cap to a groundbreaking year for the Ottawa artist.

Dip Black says of his debut release, “This has been a big year for me. My first Toronto show. Performing at Capital Rap Battles and Cranium with my brother Hevve. This album is a perfect way to end 2019 and start the next decade of my career. A lot of bars and a lot of energy. I was working on this album for a long time, but it was only when I got with Quest, Hevve and Dreamland that it came together how I envisioned.”

Fans of the Ottawa-Gatineau based imprint won’t have to wait too long for more music. The label’s flagship artist, Hevve, is set to release his next project in early 2020.
